An update on water quality from the city of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ and immediate mitigation efforts from the College.

Now in its fourth year, the Colloquium is a set of convening conversations offering an opportunity to talk together and learn about timely and significant topics at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ and in the field of higher education that influence our mission and experiences.

As we look forward to the 2026-27 academic year, this newsletter is intended to briefly preview institutional initiatives in the upcoming year. We will continue to work on these initiatives with the Executive Council of the faculty, the Staff Council, and/or the Student Government Association through our shared governance processes and look forward to our work together.

Each year, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ College awards up to three Harris Faculty Fellowships, which provide recipients with a full year to focus on research. Harris Faculty Fellowships also provide funding for recipients’ departments to hire term visiting faculty for the Fellowship year.

In light of tomorrow’s forecast, the Commencement ceremony will be indoors in the Field House within the Bear Recreation and Athletic Center.

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ College is moving forward with a thoughtful, community-informed effort to evolve the visual identity associated with ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ athletics, including the Honor G. Guided by a charge from the Board of Trustees, this work focuses on evolution – not replacement – preserving the meaning, tradition, and deep connection the Honor G holds for generations of student-athletes, while ensuring it reflects today’s teams.

Spring break comes with the generative possibility of respite, discovery, connection, and renewal for each of you, and I hope that it is a restorative time for all of you. When we gather again, I invite you to a Legislative Update on Wednesday, March 25 from noon to 1 p.m. in the HSSC Auditorium.

The Board of Trustees gathered for their winter retreat on Friday, Feb. 6, at the Newton Arboretum & Botanical Center and spent Saturday on campus in Rosenfield Center, Room 101.

Sheryl Walter ’78 notified ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ College that she has resigned as chair of the Board of Trustees due to ongoing health concerns that preclude her from being able to devote the required time and attention to Board matters for the foreseeable future.
